You might remember my brunch post involving Meddlesome Moth a few weeks ago, but I just don’t think I did that place justice. Originally the thought of Meddlesome Moth slightly grossed me out. When I see the word moth, I think Silence of the Lambs not delicious food. But, alas, moths can now be associated with tasty meals.
The Friend Boy and I first went to dinner there before the Trampled by Turtles concert. The idea of British food made me skeptical. Don’t get me started on the things I ate while studying abroad in London… But Meddlesome Moth takes British food and makes it delicious. I didn’t even know that was possible.
We went for small plates, because big plates are for the selfish. We had shrimp and grits (duh), seared sirloin on a stick and collared greens. That was all fine and dandy, but it was the beer selection that got me excited. First off, they have beer flights, so you can sample all their tasty brews without feeling like an alcoholic. Secondly, they have a lot to choose from and help you pick out the right beer. That way, little beer-novices like moi don’t feel silly ordering a “beer that tastes like bananas.”
And that’s really all I have to say about Meddlesome Moth. But it’s not all I have to say about Silence of the Lambs. Happy Tuesday!
